Alex and Nicole introduce this month's episode, "Back to a Sustainable Future". The Green Screen crew participates in Contra Costa College's Building Bridges to the Future program with 2 workshops by EarthTeam, including data collection at Rheem Creek and a video production workshop for local students. Then Andrew and Cameron become The Green Teen in two adventures about protecting storm drains and the consequences of illegal dumping. Andrew, Tyler and Sophie take a tour of Davis St Recycling Center in Alameda County to find out where things go when we throw them away. |

Carmen and Jocelyn interview Rachel from the “Think Outside the Bottle” campaign which encourages all of us to use tap water instead of bottled. The Troubled Water Forum with Assemblywoman Loni Hancock and Oakland High Schools’ work at Sausal Creek are featured and teacher Katie Noonan explains her upcoming trip to the Antarctica. Deer Valley HS participates in the Antioch Dunes restoration project to help with conservation efforts. The action of the month encourages battery recycling. |

The Green Screen highlights local collaborative environment efforts. The Rail to Trails project in Richmond explains and celebrates the removal of old railroad tracks which are replaced with walking and biking trails, and a new children's gardening project along the resulting "Greenway". The UC Berkeley Biodiversity project at Adams Middle School explores a partnership between the University and 7th grade science students and their teachers. Green Screen reports attend the exciting Goldman Environmental awards in San Francisco and go thrift shopping as a fun and profitable “green” experience. |

The environmental issue of both indoor and outdoor air quality is explored, including what impacts air quality, and its impact on local communities. Featured on the show is an interview with manager of the Asthma Program for Contra Costa Health Services, Cedritra Claiborne, Senior Health Education Specialist, Ann Song, also with the County Health Services. The episode begins and ends with segments of " Global Watch", by student filmmaker, Jameson Oliveri, from Clayton High School, with suggestions for ways to help lower your carbon footprint. Richmond city Mayor, Gayle McLaughlin, is interviewed by Green Screen hosts about the city's new GREEN direction. |

This episode spotlights those including Chicory Bethel’s role as EarthTeam's project director for the Global Warming Campaign, Martin Luther King Restoration Day, and Earth Day 2006. Watch Green Screen students interview students from Alaska whose village and daily lives are being affected by global warming. |

The Green Screen focuses on people making a difference in their communities. Students from the Environmental Studies Academy are featured and interviewed about their various projects and we watch the documentary they made with guidance from EarthTeam, "Creeks Without Oil". Along with these ESA students, Dr. Green was also highlighted and interviewed as she had just returned from a conference with Al Gore who trained her in educating people about his documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". |

Green screen focuses on understanding sustainability and how to achieve it. The program begins with an original music video written, produced, and performed by two Green Screen members. The "Sustainability" song is now the theme song for The Green Screen. Student hosts conduct an interview with Allison Quaid, executive director of Bay Area Alliance for Sustainable Communities. Next up, the student reporters videos a report from the 2006 Brower Youth Awards showcases young eco-heroes from around the country who are making a difference in the sustainability of their communities. |
